5. iStay Cottages, 5 mins from keflavik

A minutes drive from Keflavik airport. Perfect for a late flight in or an early flight out. A simple keylock lets you in which was what we needed when our flight landed past 1am.

A basic setup with nice comfy beds. Beds that certainly felt comfy once we had arrived. There is a communal area for hot drinks and cooking only a few steps from your cottage and some seasonal hot tubs nearby.

6. Lilja Guesthouse

Just west of Höfn on the ringroad we found ourselves at the Lilja guesthouse, located close to the vatnajökull national park. An odd layout as the restaurant and reception were in a separate location to the rooms. I think this was a little confusing as we arrived late and a little tired. We would only recommend a one night stay here.
